In the Corral
    with Carol

Inverness Book Festival, January 28-29, 2011.  Friday will be a 'meet and greet the authors' wine and appetizer social that is going to be open to the public. Saturday will include writer's seminars, Florida storytellers, book signings and sales, antique book sales and appraisals. This is an inaugural event for Citrus County readers!  The festival will be held at Citrus County's historical Courthouse Museum and is sponsored by the GFWC Woman's Club of Inverness in partnership with the Citrus County Chronicle, Citrus County Historical Society, and the City of Inverness.

This is Author Fest 2010, held at the Lakes Region Library, Inverness, Florida on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 1-4pm.  Twenty authors were invited to participate and the event drew in the public from the whole county.  Book sales were up and it was fun interacting and networking with other authors and the public. Thanks to Helen Vandewalker, our table gave away, as a raffle, a beautiful gift can see it on the right hand side of the photo. Lots of treats were placed in the basket designed by Helen, who also works as my editor and publicist. THANKS HELEN!!

I was told we would be invited to a similar event being planned for the Beverly Hills, Florida, branch of the library. Looking forward to that! And YES, to several ladies from book clubs who asked if I am available to talk about my book and being an author. I'd LOVE that too!

I’m taking a bit of a breather from the final editing of my second novel. Last summer I enjoyed time with friends and family. I’ve been reflecting on the fun times in the last few years and the places I’ve been and the people I’ve met. Some of those appearances for book signings or public readings in Florida included:

            First Saturday Festival in Dunnellon
Pine Ridge Equestrian Estates
Citrus County Public Library in Beverly Hills
Crystal River Mall
USA Flea Market in Port Richey
Curves in Dunnellon
            Pine Ridge Tea Party, Florida
Author Open House, Beverly Hills, Florida
            Garden Party,
New Philadelphia, Ohio
            Sandusky Marina, Ohio

I’ve been busy in Ohio too, with places to go and people to see at:

           Hartville Marketplace
Strasburg Pharmacy
New Philadelphia
Sandusky Marina

Thank you to all who helped set up these venues and to all who stopped by to say hello or to buy a book or two. It was really fun for me!

I’ve been lucky to have Five Star ***** reader reviews from all my web sales markets including Barnes & Noble, Buy Books on the, Target, and Walden Books/ Thank you to all who took the time to give me a good rap! I’m pretty sure you’ll like Fatal Favors as well. If your bookstore doesn’t have my book, just ask them to order it…or go to the bookstore section of this web site.

To those of you who didn’t see the article in the previous newsletter that was written by Sam Scott, Ocala Star Banner, we’ll rerun the link. I love the picture of my horse, Dizzy, and I, and thank the newspaper for allotting the big space for the at-home interview. Good job, Sam.

Book Signing and Meet the Author Session:

 Lakes Region Library, Inverness, Florida
Tuesday, April 6, from 10am-12noon
Stop in and say hello!

Since Fatal Favors has been published, I’ve been working on the third book in the Favors series.  A 2009 Christmas cruise with family gave me some ideas and a murderous story is developing.  Of course, Emily and Mikki were already on board, but I don’t want to give too much away!  Watch this site for the completion of the Favors trilogy…and thanks for reading!
